Frequently Asked Questions
How do I connect my email account?
Go to Settings > Integrations and click 'Connect' next to Gmail or Microsoft Outlook. You'll be redirected to sign in and grant InvoiceRunner permission to read invoice emails. We only access emails with invoice attachments.
Which accounting software do you support?
We currently support Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, FreshBooks, and Sage. Connect your preferred software in Settings > Integrations. More integrations are coming soon.
How accurate is the AI invoice extraction?
Our AI achieves high accuracy on most standard invoices. However, we always recommend reviewing extracted data before approving. All bills are created as drafts so you can verify before finalizing.
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use bank-grade encryption (AES-256) for data at rest and TLS for data in transit. We only access emails containing invoices and never read personal correspondence. See our Privacy Policy for details.
What file formats do you support?
We support PDF invoices and common image formats (PNG, JPG, JPEG). The AI can extract data from scanned documents, digital invoices, and even photos of paper invoices.
How do I disconnect an integration?
Go to Settings > Integrations and click 'Disconnect' next to the service you want to remove. This immediately revokes our access. You can also revoke access directly from your Google, Microsoft, or accounting software account settings.
Why wasn't my invoice processed?
Invoices may not be processed if: the email wasn't recognized as an invoice, the attachment format isn't supported, or the file is corrupted. Check the Invoices page for any items marked for review.
Can I process invoices manually?
Yes! You can upload invoices directly from the Dashboard by clicking 'Upload Invoice'. This is useful for invoices received outside of email.
Integration Support
Email Integrations
- Gmail: Ensure you've granted "read email" permissions. Check your Google Account security settings if connection fails.
- Outlook: For Microsoft 365 accounts, your admin may need to approve the app. Contact your IT department if you see permission errors.
Accounting Integrations
- Xero: You must be an admin or have bill creation permissions in your Xero organization.
- QuickBooks: Ensure your QuickBooks subscription includes API access. Some plans may have limitations.
- Zoho/FreshBooks/Sage: Connect with the same account that has admin access to your books.
